An excerpt from "The Blue Portraits"

Out of the blue
As a clear sky reflects vast oceans
Secrets unravel in silhouettes and shadows
From profile to paper, improbable portraits emerge

On spectral horizons, life-lines dance with intricate
     energy and sublime purpose
Emanations from a vibrant soul with heartbeats
     to the headwinds
Mere paint gives way to revelations to be touched,
     felt and remembered
The human spirit ascends from the chaos
     as sparks reel and the senses fly

A lost resemblance is re-discovered in suggestive shroud
An avatar with manmade wings manifesting splendor
A vision unlike any your eyes have ever seen
Yet unmistakably remembered as you, yourself, once remember it

Recognition fires our collective imagination
With primal rendition so powerful they require dilution and deflection
Yet likeness has never challenged us like this before
These strangers – beautiful in their starkness and their innocence

Unexpected visitors enter my subconscious
They are introduced to me by the people I portray
This is why I paint from places so distant and so close

Have we met somewhere before?
